LVP / LVT Floor Care
Routine LVP and LVT floor cleaning is simple and hassle-free, requiring only vacuuming and dusting with a clean microfiber mop cloth to remove loose dirt or debris that could scratch the surface.
To minimize dirt and grit at entry points, use non-staining walk-off mats near all outside doorways. For regular cleaning, our Flooring Cleaner paired with a microfiber mop effectively removes foot marks and most dirt, keeping your LVP and LVT floors looking like new.
Avoid using excessive water on LVP and LVT floors to maintain their integrity. Steer clear of scouring substances, abrasive cleaners, and paste waxes. For stubborn scuffs and stains, our specialized products make cleaning easy and effective.
For deep cleaning, use our Deep Scrub to tackle embedded dirt and stains. If your floors need extra care, try our Deep Scrub EXTREME to address tough residues or buildup.
Wet spills should always be cleaned promptly to prevent liquid from seeping into seams. Our ready-to-use Restorer enhances the appearance of your LVP and LVT flooring.
To protect your LVP and LVT floors, attach felt pads to furniture legs, use drip trays under potted plants, and equip movable furniture with wide, rubber rollers. When moving heavy appliances like refrigerators, exercise caution to prevent scratches. Using protective mats in high-traffic areas is also a good practice.
By utilizing the Lamanator Plus line of LVP and LVT floor care products, your luxury vinyl plank and tile floors will stay in excellent condition for years to come.
Follow these maintenance tips for your LVP and LVT flooring:
- Use a damp cloth to blot up spills immediately. Do not allow liquids to stand on the surface.
- Regularly sweep, dust, or vacuum with a hard floor attachment to avoid buildup of dirt and grit.
- Periodically clean with products specifically designed for LVP and LVT flooring, such as our Floor Cleaner & Revitalizer.
- Avoid wet mopping with soap, water, or oil-based detergents to prevent damage like swelling, warping, or delamination.
- Do not use steel wool, abrasive cleaners, or strong chemical cleaners.
For issues like candle wax or chewing gum, harden the substance with ice, then gently scrape it away with a plastic scraper. Clean the area with a damp cloth.
If you live in a sandy area, such as near a beach, you may need to dust-mop or vacuum more frequently to protect your floors.
Protect your LVP and LVT flooring with entry mats to capture dirt and debris. For area rugs, use an approved vinyl-safe underlayment to prevent slipping.
Use floor protectors like felt pads and wide-load bearing leg bases for heavy furniture to prevent scratches or indentations. As a general rule, the heavier the object, the wider the floor protector should be.
Maintain a relative humidity level between 35% and 65% indoors to reduce the natural expansion and contraction of LVP and LVT materials.
During heating seasons, consider using a humidifier to counteract dryness caused by wood stoves or electric heat. In non-heating seasons, air conditioners or dehumidifiers can help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Avoid prolonged exposure to water during wet weather and keep your pet's nails trimmed to prevent scratches on the floor surface.
Never drag heavy furniture or appliances across the floor—use protective mats or lift them to avoid damage.
In case of damage, minor scratches or dents can be repaired with a flooring touch-up kit. Use our Restorer to seal and protect repaired areas, ensuring they blend seamlessly with the rest of your floor and withstand everyday wear.
